Smores Galore

Now that the weather is getting cooler, we’re enjoying more evening campfires around Blount County.  And what better way to enjoy anything than with chocolate?  To construct your Smores Galore, following are suggested items:

  • Waffle cones
  • Miniature marshmallows
  • Chocolate chips
  • White chocolate chips
  • Reeses Pieces
  • Toffee chips
  • Butterscotch chips
  • Shredded coconut
  • Candied nuts

Mix your favorites in a bowl before stuffing the waffle cone.  Mixing is tastier than layering, but in a campfire situation, you may have only the means to layer.  Whatever it takes, just get your favorites into the cone — it will be a ooey gooey mess soon enough.  Wrap the goody-filled cone in aluminium foil and hold over the campfire, place on the grill, or whatever heat source you’re using. (We’ve used the toaster oven lately)  It only takes a few minutes and you will have warm perfection in a cone — enjoy!

This last photo is the “finished” product — it’s difficult to tell because it doesn’t appear very melted — but getting it warm and toasty is the key.  Anything more and you risk scorching your masterpiece.  From the above picture, this is how it looked on the inside:

Can you say “YUM”?!  These are simply divine! Happy Fall, Blount County!
